Alternative power and solar breakthroughs come in different shapes and sizes. Barcelona-based architect André Broesse has blown the flat panel design off the roof and into a glass orb he says magnifies the amount of light harvested by about 35% over traditional panels, collects moon as well as sun light and continues to operate even on cloudy days. The large transparent sphere can replace large windows, be adapted for mobile applications or as an exterior building addition. Technology and aesthetics join to create a visually stunning sculptural form... that follows function.
