InClimate 606; Disruption/Climate as Social Movement

Climate change has already begun and some of its consequences are already apparent. And yet, for the most part - business as usual continues. World leaders and policy makers debate what is no longer debatable and drag their feet about taking serious action. People are rising.

 



The Peoples Climate March September 21 and related actions are anticipated to represent 100 million people world-wide. It has become the social movement of the time. Poor people will undoubtedly be the most impacted as shortages in food, water and other resources cause prices to rise. Extreme weather and rising sea levels will cause forced migrations along with climate refugees. The wealthy will have far more resources to insulate them from the catastrophe.
