InClimate 638; Great Indigenous Video & Amtrak Delays

Makes no difference if you do or don’t care about anything I’ve posted, so far - Please at least watch this short Indigenous Voices video from Idle No More:

And in another example of:

Cause all things connect to all things

Nothing stands by itself all alone

Our actions and reactions circulate in rings

With consequences often unknown*

Trains are one of the most energy efficient means of transportation. Air travel in comparison is very energy inefficient with a large carbon footprint per passenger mile. In America, freight took precedent over people moving. Some rail buffs have claimed US freight capabilities have been the envy of the world. On the other hand, that put people moving on the back burner. Infrastructure upgrades and new technology that give people better choices for travel are part of the solution to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

We traveled east on the Peoples Climate Train from Chicago to New York City with about a 3-hour delay. The return trip west included a 6.5-hour delay. Amtrak shares the rails between those cities with freight and the oil boom trains.
