InClimate 680; Armistice and/or Veterans Day

War is the failure of civilization and probably one of the single biggest drivers of climate change possible. It’s another Veteran’s Day and I come to it as a combat wounded veteran and witness to war on two continents. My dark thoughts often begin as I wonder why the cheery buy, buy, buy ads are tied to the day and thoroughly blanket the media. Of course, this is America and any reason for a sale will do.

The darkness grows as images from the front permeate my little brain. I take some solace in a 100-year old Christmas lesson from World War I when the soldiers on both sides ignored the generals and set down their weapons. Christmas Eve - 1914, the warriors climbed out of the trenches, set aside their weapons, embraced, sang songs, shared cigarettes and even played soccer. What if they gave a war and everybody laid down their weapons and danced?
