In 100-days, Solar Impulse II is scheduled to begin it’s flight around the world using only solar power - emission free.
Transitioning off fossil fuel could help get us out of this climate jam. The technology to make it happen comes from a “can-do” pioneer spirit and pushing tech - sometimes to perceived limits.
Some said it couldn’t be done, but the Solar Impulse has flown continuously through both the bright of day and the darkness of night without fuel. The advanced experimental airplane flew coast to coast across the USA using only solar power. Energy from the sun. The strides in technology it pioneers brings hope for generations to come and with it a transition to a more sustainable future.
