InClimate 721; Investing in Carbon Just Got Worse

All that was hoped for from the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) meeting in Lima, Peru didn’t come about. There’s always the wrangling and compromises and forward looking and backwards pedaling. The draft plan going forward to Paris in December 2015 includes an important provision with significant support from delegates to phase out carbon emissions by 2050 and reach the lofty goal of net zero by the end of the century. It should wake investors to the fact that investing in a carbon intensive infrastructure is a bad investment freeing more capital for clean, renewable energy.
