InClimate 735; A Few of My Least Favorite things

The latest imbalance in Washington will have vested interest politicians pushing to shore-up the fossil fuel industry - big coal, gas and oil. There will undoubtedly be new questionable reports questioning global warming, climate change and what not have you. I’ll just call it “the problem”.

Just remember, even without any danger from “the problem” there are plenty of other reasons to dump the primary energy of the past for a cleaner future. It seems best to err to caution. Burning fossil fuel dirties the air we breathe and these are just a few more of my least favorite things.

Coal: Explosions in the mines and mountaintop removal, coal ash, black lung, dirty air and water.

Oil: Environmental devastation at tar sands and fracking sites, groundwater contamination, toxic chemicals, probable connection to seismic activity, massive spills from tanker ships, trains and pipelines, accidents and explosions.

Gas: Environmental devastation at tar sands and fracking sites, groundwater contamination, toxic chemicals, probable connection to seismic activity, leaking pipes, accidents and explosions.
