Emission standards for both power plants and vehicles are being addressed globally with stronger rules and tech innovations in China, the European Union and the USA. Hopefully, that will help contain the impact of an anticipated future growth to two billion vehicles world wide. In the USA, cleaner power plants, Energy Star appliances and conservation have rolled back some energy demands. The results of efforts there have seen pollution drop 10% below 2005 levels and it continues to drop.
