Global Divestment Days (February 13 and 14) are fast approaching. It’s past time to get out. Wall Street is nervous. The Dow Jones industrial average and the S&P 500 were running at record levels last year, but so far this year it’s an up and down ride in part do to the glut of oil, conservation measures, improved efficiency, renewable energy and slowing of economies elsewhere. The price of oil has dropped dramatically and US energy companies are decommissioning wells and drilling rigs. We don’t need Keystone. We need to divest from antiquated fossils and reinvest in clean energy.
