Protests against shale gas exploration got hot and serious in New Brunswick, Canada as police arrested about 40 people that took down a barricade and set several police vehicles on fire. Local aboriginal people and activists had been trying to stop or slow the exploration for shale gas by SWN Resources Canada by blocking a road near Rexton.
