On August 28, Americans remember a great milestone in the civil rights movement - the “March on Washington” and its goals of equality and dignity for all. The threats to civilization as we know it from a too rapidly changing climate reminds me that civil rights and all matters of concern go hand in hand with protecting this planet or we have nothing to live for... and nowhere to live. With my utmost respect and acknowledgement to Dr. King, I too have a dream. I dream one day the human and corporate greed that places short term profit above people, planet and creatures will give way to an ideal of a common good. One that espouses sustainability, a betterment for all and a long range view that takes precedence over fast and furious material gain.
